Film / TV / Theatre
Michael completed a course in composition for media, and attended a film orchestration course in Los Angeles. Work has included film, corporate video as well as for the TV production company Ragdoll. Below are examples from his film score ‘Night Junkies’ and the silent comedy film ‘Coral’s World’ with Caroline Quentin and Ian Kelsey. For the theatre Michael has provided pre-show ambient soundscapes and was recently approached by an American producer to write music for a new play being brought to London.
Michael’s first ballet music came when he was invited to compose for the Royal Ballet’s Draft Works, this led to New Works in the Linbury the following year, and in 2012 the Royal Ballet School commissioned a one act ballet, La Destinée which premiered in the main house at Covent Garden.
The following tracks demonstrate scoring for traditional instruments or electronic score, or a combination of both.
